We all love gaming right? Who doesn’t? But what if you had a disability which hindered your ability to play your favourite games? This is where the amazing charity SpecialEffect comes in!
Their mission is to: “enable anyone, whatever their disability, to enjoy video games and leisure technology. But we’re not just doing it for the sake of fun. By giving disabled people the means to participate, we’re kick-starting rehabilitation, self-esteem and, most importantly, inclusion.”
By creating and buying specialised gaming equipment such as:
controllers that can be manipulated easily by elbows and chins, for amputations and other conditions, and sensors that track the retinas of the human eye, allowing people with little or no muscle control to play games using only their vision, SpecialEffect travel up and down the country giving demonstrations and helping individuals get their game on!
Our amazing friends at ‘Nice Face Games’ are raising money for SpecialEffect by taking part in a virtual equivalent of the 24-hour endurance race around Circuit De Spa-Francorchamps – one of the biggest race car events of the year on the 9th September 2013 and you could get your name on their BMW when you donate on their justgiving page!
So if any of our generous readers out there want to donate whatever they can you can click this link and the guys and girls at Nice Face Games will be extremely grateful for your donation.
Lets help disadvantaged gamers by supporting this amazing fundraiser!
