The Xbox 360 controller was arguably more ergonomic than any other controller in the current generation, so the Xbox One controller has a lot to live up to. The battery pack is now ‘internal’, rather than the Xbox 360 controller, which has a protruding battery pack. The controller also connects via microUSB, turning the controller into an industry-standard wired controller.
These guys also go into more depth regarding the impulse triggers – so should developers support it, you will be able to feel a difference between weapons or vehicles when using triggers, as an additional feedback. This is as well as a rumble feature.
Latency has been improved and the infra red frequency band has been increased. Another a nice little perk that we weren’t already aware of; Kinect to controller detection means that if you give the controller to a friend, it will switch profile too.
