New Watch Dogs trailer – Hacking is your weapon

Ubisoft have released another intense, action-packed trailer for their upcoming game Watch_Dogs. The trailer shows just how varied the potential hacks can be, offering a number of unique ways to handle any situation. Some quarters of the press had expressed fears that the game, for all its open world freedom, might become too formulaic. If every car chase can be avoided by hacking the barrier system, that might get a bit dull.

Well, the good news is the trailer should allay any of those fears as the options look plentiful! On top of releasing a road barrier to stop any pursuers, you can also: overload steam pipes below the city streets; hack into hiding places – such as private, gated car parks; raise bridges or even cause a total blackout to evade the police OR help you catch the criminals. Whether on foot or in a vehicle, manipulating the world around you with an impressive 75 different hacks will be anything but formulaic!

Everything is connected. Everything!
Everything is connected. Everything!

Using, protagonist, Aiden Pearce’s device to hack into the city-wide CtOS (Central Operating System) looks to have few limits. The ability to hack into someones surveillance system, then use that to hack their computer – acquire passwords and then help yourself to the contents of their bank account is truly frightening! Use security cameras to find and track criminals or create your own cover and distractions in a fire fight! Whichever of the hacks you use, it looks like it’ll be an absolute blast to play!

November 22nd  is the scheduled release date for PC, PS3 and Xbox 360. The game is also set for release on Xbox One and PS4, but as yet no date has been given. Expect that to follow the release dates of the new consoles!
