Movie Buffs Collectors Fair – Hull – 17th August 2013

I took a visit to the Movie Buffs Collectors Fair in Hull last Saturday 17th August, and let me say I always have an incredible time at these events, the atmosphere of all us movie/comic/game geeks coming together to celebrate what we love is something really amazing.

Special guests Toby Philpot, (puppeteer for Jabba the Hutt, Little Shop of Horrors, Labrinth, Jim Henson Creature’s Workshop) and Jabba the Hutt performer and sculptor John Coppinger (who also worked on Harry Potter, Babe, Walking with Dinosaurs) showed up alongside the very man himself, David Prowse A.K.A Darth Vader! to take photos and sign autographs.

And what a turn out of fans that showed up to meet them! this was one of the busiest movie buffs fairs I’ve ever been to, and the ‘Hullywood’ crew did a fantastic job of keeping it all organised and under control.

There were stalls packed filled with collectables, signed autographs, retro toys and posters from a vast array of different cult films and TV shows, there were also some fantastic deals on graphic novels and comics, I personally scored myself 12 Wolverine and Deadpool books for £10!

People put some amazing effort into their costumes too! the xenomorph cosplay in particular was fantastic but massive props to Hellboy, The Ghostbusters, all the Stormtroopers and everyone else (especially baby mini Thor) that I saw walking around as their favourite characters, you guys really made it something special and I loved how enthusiastic you all were when I took photographs.
