Xbox have given fans of Forza another reason to continue playing both recent and older titles in the franchise with the announcement and release of ‘Forza Rewards’. The launch was announced through the Xbox News website.
The loyalty program rewards regular players with cars, in-game credits, tokens, and more, using a levelling up system. Each level, or ‘tier’ can provide means for better rewards in Forza Motorsport 4 and Forza Horizon – and you can increase your tier by earning points in-game. Your total points is your ‘Forza Score’ and you can earn points on games as early as Forza Motorsport 2. Xbox have also noted on their launch announcement that:
“With the upcoming release of Forza Motorsport 5 exclusively for Xbox One, Forza fans will have more points to earn, new Tier levels to achieve, and more rewards to earn on a monthly basis.”.
Your progress and certain statistics across these games are tracked You can even compare your total Forza Rewards points or Forza Score, with Xbox LIVE friends using the ‘Friends Compare’ feature. Best of all, you don’t need an Xbox LIVE Gold subscription to access all these new features. You can access Forza Rewards via rewards.forzamotorsport.net, although there seems to be isues with the website when using Google Chrome at the moment.
We don’t see any reference to earning rewards in older titles, such as Forza Motorsport 3 and Forza Motorsport 2 – but it seems that Forza Motorsport 5 will be supported. As taken from the Forza Rewards forum FAQ:
“What’s in store for Forza Rewards in the future?
We’re excited about integrating the Forza Rewards program more tightly with future Forza titles and will be adding new tiers, new rewards and additional scoring opportunities over time.
Forza Rewards is also the first piece of a significant overhaul coming to ForzaMotorsport.net in the Forza Motorsport 5 launch time frame.”
So we should definitely expect more updates to Forza Rewards and something along the lines of a website re-design in the aftermath of the Forza Motorsport 5 launch!
