First Xbox One advert doesn’t focus on games

Out of the soon-to-be-released next generation consoles, Microsoft have been first to launch a television advertisement. We thought that they might make their first advert with focus on the console’s epic gaming, but it’s actually about watching sport. Take a look below:

So what we’re seeing here is someone watching American Football, whilst playing fantasy football, then contacting a buddy on Skype and using Windows to multi-task, or ‘Snap’. In-case you weren’t already aware, American Football’s NFL and ESPN have teamed up with Xbox One, to make apps that provide sports coverage for the rest of this American Football season and more. Hopefully that includes some ‘Soccer’, more commonly known as football, for the European sports fanbase.

We’re not sure whether having the first video as an advertisement for non-gaming entertainment is the best idea, as the focus on an entertainment system caused a backlash at E3 this year.
