Many of you will have seen that certain developers plan to entice you to buy their game effectively twice, but at a nice discount. Games such as Fifa 14, Assassin’s Creed and Call of Duty Ghosts all have plans in the pipeline where, should you purchase the game on current gen, you will be able to upgrade for the next gen version at a discounted price.
Whilst this discounted price is set to be determined by developers, EA’s Battlefield 4 has laid out one of their strategies on the table. Should you purchase Battlefield 4 on the PS3, you will receive a code inside the box which gives you the option to buy the PS4 version for an extra £10. This statement came from Playstation’s European Forum and it has been suggested that the code will only be available in Battlefield 4 copies that are marked so on the box. We imagine this is to help bolster day one sales of Battlefield 4 – so expect this to be a limited time offer. So far no word has been given as to whether the Xbox 360 version will have an upgrade included in the physical copy for the Xbox One, although Microsoft do intend to have a upgrade system in place for the US and UK. As reported by Twinstickgaming earlier, Game also have a trade in offer where (if you have purchased a copy of the game from the retailer) you can trade in your current gen copy for a guaranteed £40 against the exact same game on next gen. Currently FIFA 14, Battlefield 4 and Call of Duty Ghosts are on offer.
