Sony have confirmed it’s cloud streaming service, Gaikai, will launch in North America in 2014. No specific North American date has been set and as of yet no time frame has been given to European territories either. Although Sony Worldwide Studios president Shuhei Yoshida expected to see the European launch shortly after the American launch.
The Gaikai streaming service will not only provide much loved TV services such as Netflix to the PS4 but will make a large amount of the PS3 back catalogue available to users. Sony exclusives such as The Last of Us, Uncharted and Killzone along with major third party titles such as Grand Theft Auto will be a welcome addition to the PS4 although no specific games have been confirmed. Gaikai is also supposed to be headed to the new Vita TV as wellas the PS Vita itself adding more necessity to owning all three pieces of hardware.
As reported by Twinstickgaming, earlier in September, the big problem the UK faces is will our broadband speed cope with such intensive streaming? Nothing would be worse than tantalising people with an amazing catalogue of PS3 games only to be riddled with connectivity problems. Either way stay posted for the latest updates on Gaikai with Twinstickgaming.
So which games would you most like to see transfer from the PS3 to the PS4?
