GAME recently announced SIX, YES SIX new Playstation 4 bundles. These bundles will only be available to their “Phase 1 Pre-orders,” those pre-orders being ready for day one launch. Phase two pre-orders were also sent an e-mail confirming that they will receive the much coveted PS4 before Christmas but may have different bundles to those available on launch. Good news for everyone in the UK. But what choices are on offer?
The fact that several of the bundles have stayed under the £400 mark can only add to how attractive Sony’s console is to a cash stricken market. This ‘appears’ to consumers to be incredibly cheaper than the Xbox One’s packages that come bundled with free games such as Forza (£429), Fifa 14 (£429) & Call of Duty (£460). Although the Xbox One does come with a Kinect included in the box. But Sony have attempted to counter Microsoft’s Kinect strategy by offering a bundle that includes Killzone: Shadow Fall, 2 controllers and the PS4 Camera (which retail around £55 each separately) all for £449.99. Also the strong support from third party developers that include EA, Activision and Ubisoft indicate that Sony are pulling out all the stops in time for Christmas.
Furthermore GAME also confirmed that should people not want one of the bundles they can still purchase the PS4 solus for £349 but have until the 5th of October to confirm their choice. Why you wouldn’t want a game with your shiny new PS4 is beyond me. Personally the only bundle that appears absent is a bundle that includes Knack. This is one of Sony’s new exclusive I.P’s and will appeal to kids, families and platform players alike. Plus it’s made by Sony. It seems strange to leave such a title out. Oh well we can’t have everything I suppose.
So which bundle are you most drawn to? I can’t make up my mind between Killzone: Shadow Fall and Watchdogs.
