Bungie’s highly anticipated online shooter/RPG hybrid, shown to much critical acclaim at E3 and Gamescom, appears to be slated for a public beta.
First reported by LevelSave, a now dead link appears to have linked users on the Destiny website to a beta section. By looking into the news pages’ source code, intrepid fans have also unearthed further mention of the Destiny beta.
““< div id=”atvi-text-569261″ > <p>Pre-order Destiny at select retailers and receive admission to the Destiny Beta. Play it first. Become Legend.</p>””
Bungie have also been reaching out to the community for sign-ups to their User Research program where you can registers as a possible beta tester for future Bungie products – i.e Destiny.

Public betas are nothing new for Bungie titles, with Halo 3’s beta infamous inclusion with a purchase of Crackdown and codes for Halo Reach’s beta being liberally handed out by Bungie.
Typically, these beta tests took place far in advance of the title’s release and as such, Bungie could be seen to take more on-board from public betas than Dice do with Battlefield, whose public betas run mere weeks before the game’s release.
With a tentative Q2/Q3 release for the game, could we see a Destiny beta as early as the end of the year?
TwinStickGaming will continue to follow this story as it develops, and will be sure to update once those “select retailers” are confirmed.
