Attendees of this year’s Comic Con were given a special treat. Fans got to witness the live unveiling of the 8th assassin in Batman Arkham Origins, with Electrocutioner. I think it’s safe to say, unless you are amongst the most avid Batman fans, that Electrocutioner (real name Lester Buchinsky) is one of DC’s lesser known characters. Lester Buchinsky is a mercenary, with the ability to generate electricity and shock people.
The plot of Batman Arkham Origins is relatively simple. Black Mask places a large bounty on Batman’s head and 8 assassins heed the call.

Interestingly, it has been suggested that the shock gloves that Batman came to use in previous games (as Batman: Arkham Origins is a prequel) will be taken from Electrocutioner as a result of winning the fight featured in this trailer.
Some fans may have been hoping for the announcement of one of Gotham’s super villains, but by introducing lesser known characters such as Electrocutioner, this gives Warner Bros the opportunity to open up the Batman universe in later games. They also have a real chance of affiliating Lester with the games more than the comic books, turning him into one of the games most established characters. Like what the animated series did for Harley Quinn (Harley Quinn never appeared in a comic until after the animated series, she was originally created for the cartoon).
Either way, fans should be happy as they have a magnificent balance of new and well-known villains. So far Black Mask and The Riddler are confirmed villains; the trailer also confirms several of the 8 assassins, including Bane who initially was suspected as an assassin but never confirmed.
Here is the list of confirmed (or rumoured) assassins so far:
