Driving game fanatics preparing for the anticipated Forza Motorsport 5 may be disappointed to hear that the Xbox One force-feedback driving wheel is being delayed until some time after Christmas. No date has been revealed at this time. The wheel is exclusive to Xbox One, and is being developed and manufactured by the famous third-party gaming peripheral company Mad Catz. The news that the snazzy piece of kit’s release was going to be postponed was announced via Digital Spy, who were contacted by a Mad Catz representative about the wheel.
The wheel boasts force-feedback technology, a suede steering wheel and adjustable aluminimum pedals. Unveiled by Mad Catz at Gamescom, it was originally planned to be released alongside Forza Motorsport 5. Below, Major Nelson discusses both the Thrustmaster Ferrari 458 Italia and the Mad Catz Force Feedback racing wheel with Branden Powell, the Director of Strategic Alliances – or, the accessories head honcho.
Nothing has been said regarding a release date for the Thrustmaster Ferrari 458 Italia, the only other driving wheel to be announced for the Xbox One so far. We’ve done some investigating and UK pre-order dates suggest a release of 27th November 2013, whereas US pre-order dates are suggesting December 6-12th 2013 – dates taken from Amazon and Gamespot pre-order pages. We’ve reached out to Thrustmaster to confirm these release dates for US and UK/European regions.
