Day Z, originally spreading like an infection across the world, is now available to purchase via Steam
Day Z itself is in the very early stages of alpha testing, so it’s to be expected that the game will contain a few bugs. Some of these bugs may be game breaking. The developers have even stated on Steam that Day Z is still under heavy development and you are advised to review your options before purchasing Day Z at this point in time.Unless of course you wish to contribute to the development of the game and help build (what already has) a very strong following.
If this is the first time you are hearing about Day Z, where have you been? Originally starting as a college project, Day Z is/was a mod for ArmA II (until this new standalone). A zombie infestation has taken over the world and survivor’s battle for food and water. You take the role of one of those survivors. As well as nutritional needs, acquiring a weapon is essential to survive, not only the hordes of zombies but the threat of other players who may want to steal all the goods you have collected.
Unlike most MMO’s, your character has a hunger and thirst meter. These can be replenished through eating food and drinking but get too low on these and you risk certain death. The interesting concept is what would you do for food or water? If your character has 30 minutes of life left in him and you see a survivor who has food, do you ask for help and risk him trying to shoot you for your supplies or do you try to kill him for his food? This leads to spectacular gameplay and something that really has to be experienced to be believed.
Day Z is an amazing concept and right now you have the ability to contribute towards that.
Day Z is available now Via the SteamStore.
