So, the inevitable has happened. Microsoft are reducing the price of the Xbox One to £399 and throwing in a copy of Titanfall for free. It comes as no surprise as the Playstation 4 has dominated the next generation so far, with sales of almost double for January alone. The price drop will be in effect as of Friday 28th of February.
Does this mean we may see Microsoft release the Xbox One without the Kinect? Because, lets be honest, if it wasn’t for Just Dance 2014 would anybody be using it? Removing the Kinect could mean a price closer to that of the PS4. Price isn’t the only thing Sony has going for it. Microsoft are pushing gamers to move to the next generation. With PS4 supplies drying up across the UK, until March, it is not exactly a coincidence that the Xbox One is getting a price drop.
Xbox UK marketing director Harvey Eagle said “To help our fans do just that, Xbox One will be available at the new UK estimated retail price (ERP) of £399.99 from February 28th. And while supplies last, fans will also get Titanfall – the most anticipated game of the year – included in the box.”
You can’t argue with that deal. Titanfall will be a £60 title so you’re kinda only paying £340 for the console. Will this pull gamers looking for a next gen console to the Xbox One
