Ubisoft have confirmed a release window for the revolutionary new driving game The Crew. Whilst no specific date has been set, we can expect to see The Crew on shelves sometime this Autumn. Ubisoft had a generic press statement on the matter, but we’ll take what we can get I suppose;
The Crew is a revolutionary action-driving game that takes gamers on an exhilarating ride throughout a massive, open-world recreation of the United States, brimming with exciting challenges and populated by other real players.”
Ubisoft did say though that there would be a Golden Plates treasure hunt, where fans of the game can spot these hidden plates amongst the games assets and trailers. Keying in these plates into the official Crew website will unlock in-game goodies so keep those eyes peeled. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bDiplfxeCI4 The Crew aims to be a free roaming persistent world were it will take drivers around 2 hours in real time to drive from one side of the coast to the other. The campaign is suspected to be around 20 hrs long and players are able to form groups with friends who can drop in and out of each others campaign modes. With Sony’s Driveclub showing no real signs of a release date, although Sony are insistent the game will be out this year, there is certainly a huge gap in the next gen racing market, which Ubisoft will be more than happy to take advantage of.
