For those not in the know Playstation Now is a subscription based streaming service for games that will feature on the PS4. Playstation Now is expected to drop this summer in North America and currently certain American’s are enjoying the privileges behind a closed beta.
In a recent ‘slip’ to IGN, Todd Liss of Sony stated at a invite only Playstation event, that Playstation Now will launch with “hundreds of titles.” Since this statement Sony interjected and have confirmed that the number of launch titles is “not officially confirmed.”
If the original statement is to be believed then we will not only get a host of Sony exclusive PS3 and PS2 titles, but that perhaps a array of third party developers are also in on the project. So far details are sketchy but at the event Sony showed off Uncharted 3, working on a PS4, and Ratchet & Clank: Into the Nexus, working on a PS Vita.
Along with backwards compatibility being confirmed for both PS4 and PS Vita, the only other detail we know or suspect is the price. VG24/7 obtained a image relating to the price and it suggests games will be between $4.99-$5.99 each. How long you get to rent/stream these game is also unclear or whether there will be a monthly subscription which gives you unlimited access, similar to Netflix.
