Warner Brothers announced the latest Lego outing from developer Travellers Tales will be Lego Batman 3: Beyond Gotham. It is scheduled for release on current and next gen consoles, PC and handhelds.

It has been confirmed that the latest Lego DC video game which will be released this Autumn, will feature 150 unique characters and, taking a leaf out of their Lego Marvel Super Heroes release, large Lego characters such as Killer Croc and Solomon Grundy.

Players and fans can also look forward to visiting famous locations like the Hall of Justice, The Watchtower and The Batcave.

Warner Bros. revealed that the story would follow the super-heroics of Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman and the rest of the Justice League. The team will be adventuring across the galaxy to stop the menace of Braniac as he, miniaturises worlds across the cosmos using the power of the lantern rings.

Batman and the Justice League will have to visit the various lantern worlds to retrieve these rings and prevent the coming catastrophe from reaching Earth.

Warner Bros. made their announcement along with a teaser trailer which shows some of the confirmed characters, all of whom are sporting new designs to reflect their appearances in the ‘New 52’ comics storylines (the 2011 revamp and relaunch of the whole DC universe for those you less entrenched in comic lore).
