Sony may have managed to plug the leak when it comes to early PS+ announcements, but they can’t stop the relentless mishaps of retailers, in store or online!
This week we’ve already seen GAME stores accidentally post an ‘announcement’ of The Last of US Remastered release date of June 13th (vehemently denied by story, retracted by GAME Stores, but we’ll see what e3 brings). However, another blunder today, from Amazon of all places, along with Best Buy, have sprung another leak ahead of e3.
The PS4 Ultimate Player Edition will be available from July 4th, 2014. Extrapolating from the various prices springing up, the price will be roughly the combined price of a PS4 and PS Vita (so around £500 in the UK). However, the Best Buy advert leak suggests that there may be some variations and bundle deals to be had too!
They’re advertising the PS4 Ultimate Player Edition – along with Borderlands 2 Vita – for $559.98 (which equates to just under £340). Exactly what the offers and prices are will remain to be seen. The good news is Sony are still trying to find ways to get the Vita into people’s hands!
Hopefully, we’ll see the full announcement, plus some brand spanking new triple – A titles for the Vita, at e3 next week. The Vita is a superb console that has really stumbled out of the blocks. Working in tandem with the PS4 is an under-rated quality that the Vita possesses, it looks as though this e3 could throw a little more limelight onto the Vita – attracting more customers and maybe some bigger developers.
We’ll have full details on the Ultimate Player Edition, for all you Ultimate Players out there, as soon as they become available!
