Rockstar announced that online Heists were going to become available via an update to the game. With Heists playing such an integral part of the single player campaign, nothing got fans more excited than the thought of being able to plan and execute robberies online with their friends.
Originally revealed back in December last year, online heists were scheduled to land around spring 2014. Obviously sometime has passed since that window yet we have received no word. That is until today.
Sadly, Rockstar have announced, or rather commented, on Rockstar Newswire that, although heist missions are still coming, they have been delayed. This comes off the back of a new update, entitled ‘I’m Not A Hipster“, that was made available yesterday. The new update will include “new retro print tees, skinny jeans, hairstyles, tattoos, animal masks and more, as well as additional enhancements to general gameplay to ensure the world is constantly evolving.”
Here is what Rockstar had to say about the delay:
“We know many fans have been eagerly awaiting the release of the Online Heists that we had planned to release for you this spring, and they are taking more time to create than originally anticipated. We are very sorry for the delay, and are working hard to bring them to you as soon as we can.”
Whilst many where skeptical that ‘Heists’ would make the Spring window Twinstickgaming suspect that their may be another reason for the delay. Recently Sony and Rockstar announced that the PS4 version of GTA V would be receiving some exclusive content. Now this is pure speculation, but I’m going to call it and say that ‘Heists’ will be a timed PS4 exclusive or that the PS4 will receive unique Heist missions.
