Ubisoft has had a busy week at this years Gamescom. Farcry 4, Assassin’s Creed: Rogue and The Crew have all had some fantastic videos released. Now we get a good look at Assassin’s Creed: Unity and it is absolutely stunning. From the start of the video you get a really good sense of the scale and detail Ubisoft has managed to create in the first true next-gen Assassin’s Creed.

Starting on a rooftop we get a great view of a dense crowd of people below and Notre Dame Cathedral towering above us. The demo has a multitude of options for completion. We’re shown a free flowing and open-ended approach to the assassination missions with various options and tactics seemingly becoming available depending on how the player approaches the task at hand. Check out the full 11 minutes below.

How amazingly awesome does that look? The new free-running animation will give us a new way to traverse the city. A much needed renovation of the stealth system is present along with the new open combat mechanics. All these changes and improvements are making Assassin’s Creed: Unity a strong contender for our Game of the Year.
