A trailer for Resident Evil Revelations 2 has been revealed showing in-game footage and story elements of the upcoming game.
The trailer shows footage of the details, recently reported in our article, regarding Claire Redfield and Moira being kidnapped and sent to an island where they face a new adversary known as the Afflicted.
During our article we mentioned how this new entry will try to refocus on the frights and survival elements that made the Resident Evil franchise a success nearly 20 years ago!
If the trailer is anything to go by, it looks as though they may be able to deliver.
The trailer not only boasts some impressive visuals, but also shows some quick glimpses of the terrors, which we will face and the strange light up wristbands that were shown in the concept trailer when the title was first announced.
What these wristbands do and what part they play in the story is unknown at this stage, but we will of course keep you up to date when they are announced.
To accompany this trailer, it has also been divulged that the title will be released in 4 episodes to download.
Each episode will end on a cliffhanger and fits the format of its predecessor, which was released on 3DS and later ported to home consoles.
Although this format worked well when playing on the 3DS, its use was a little out-of-place on home consoles when playing for longer periods of time than you perhaps would on a portable console. However, the inclusion this time makes perfect sense. The cliffhanger endings will be broken up on consoles into episodic events, rather than all four being merged into one continuous story with several slightly out-of-place dramatic cliffhangers that are immediately brought down by continuing the story without pause.
The game will be released on retail disc as a complete collection once all four episodes have been released. Pricing of these episodes have been announced in the U.S, and that the customary Season Pass will get you all four episodes at a discounted price but we will give you pricing for the U.K and Europe once we have it.
