Xbox: Games With Gold – October 2014

With only a few days left until we reach October (Summer ended quickly huh?) Microsoft have unveiled their latest offering with Games With Gold, for both Xbox One and Xbox 360. For those who aren’t in the know, Games With Gold releases two free games every month for both Xbox One and Xbox 360, provided you are an Gold Xbox Live Subscriber you’ll receive free games every month.

So what’s new you ask? Well let’s get to it! Last Gen first I think!

Xbox 360 – Battlefield: Bad Company 2 (1st of October)


Released March 2nd 2010, Bad Company 2 received widely positive reviews and has a metacritic rating of 83. With one of the most engaging campaigns of all Battlefield games to date, Bad Company 2 was not one to miss. Luckily, all Xbox 360 Gold members can now experience this game for free! Alongside an entertaining Campaign, Bad Company 2 also features the series iconic multiplayer featuring huge open maps and intense vehicular warfare.

Xbox 360 – Darksiders 2 (16th of October)


Released in August 14 2012, Darksiders 2 improved on the original by increasing the fluidity combat and added more platforming akin to Death’s agility. Darksiders 2 received a 83 metacritic rating, and was liked by a wide variety of gamers. Primarily a hack-and-slash game, the protagonist, Death, battles both Demons and Angels to absolve his brother, War (from Darksiders 1), from accusations of starting the Apocalypse too early.

X-Box One – Chariot (1st of October)

Replacing September’s Super Time Force, Chariot is a physics based platformer. The story involves a brave princess and her suitor carrying a funeral wagon through ancient caves, fending-off swarms of looters while amassing riches, to bury the King’s remains in a worthy gold-filled tomb.
