In a recent announcement, Ubisoft confirmed that Assassin’s Creed Rogue launches on PC early 2015. This is several months after Rogue is released for both Playstation 3 and Xbox 360, on November 14th.
Assassin’s Creed Rogue is set after Black Flag and fills in the blanks that occurred between Edward Kenway’s life and his grandson Connor Kenway’s. It follows former Assassin Shay Patrick Cormac as he joins the Templar Order and sets out to remove all traces of the Assassin order.
Rogue is also reportedly to contain links to the current-gen game Unity, that launches on Playstation 4, Xbox One and PC on November 14th. Whether these links are direct, or just vague references still remains to be seen.
In an interview with Eurogamer, a Ubisoft spokesperson said the following:
“Yes, the PC version is coming out early 2015. PC fans who enjoyed Assassin’s Creed 3 and Assassin’s Creed 4 Black Flag will be able to discover the missing links between these two epic stories with Assassin’s Creed Rogue.”
Now that Rogue has been announced for PC gamers, the question arises whether or not Rogue will eventually come to current-gen consoles sometime next year. Black Flag was already on PS4 and Xbox One, and did quite well in terms of sales, so bringing Rogue to these consoles cannot be ruled out at this stage. Unfortunately, Ubisoft has remained rather quiet about this topic.
