Wonderfully creative Playstation exclusive platformer LittleBigPlanet 3 has had it’s European release date pushed back. It will now launch on the 26th of November, rather than the 19th. The North American version though? No change for that so far.
Sony announced this delay in a recent EU Playstation blog post.
“We’re currently working our socks off with Sackboy and friends to get the game to you as soon as possible but it’s recently come to our attention that we’re going to have to move the release of LittleBigPlanet 3 in Europe by one week to give Sackboy the best opportunity to shine.
“This was a very difficult decision to make but since LittleBigPlanet is such a globally appealing game, it seemed only right to give more people the chance to get to know Sackboy and his new friends.”
Since the North American release date is remaining the same, this news suggests that the move isn’t due to development time. A logical assumption would be that it is to avoid the busy release week that it was originally set as. That week alone has 7 releases, including Dragon Age: Inquisition and Far Cry 4.
LittleBigPlanet3 now releases during a week of no competition, which can only benefit it’s sales figures.
