When first probed about why Borderlands The Pre-Sequel wasn’t coming to next-gen 2k Australia and Gearbox stated that the reasons were to do with a ‘larger consumer base’. Their theory was that more people owned a PS3 and Xbox 360 than a PS4 or Xbox One. Potentially a sound theory but with the PS4 and Xbox One selling over 28 million units collectively by the end of 2014, it seemed that Borderlands the Pre-sequel had missed a trick.
However, 2k had a secret plan and that was to re-release Borderlands the Pre-sequel bundle with not only Borderlands 2 but all of the Borderlands 2 expansion packs, including the character customisation packs.
The bundle is entitled Borderlands: The Handsome Collection and is aptly named in honour of the series chief protagonist, Handsome Jack. Gearbox are also releasing a uber special edition “Claptrap-in-a-Box Edition” which includes a remote-controlled ClapTrap. A camera has been installed in ClapTraps’ eye allowing you to see from the point of view of ClapTrap himself, and the model can be controlled by downloading a free app for your phone.. The “Claptrap-in-a-Box Edition” will set you back around £270/$400 and there will be only 5000 available.
Borderlands: The Handsome Jack Collection comes to North American on March 24, and will be available internationally on March 27 for both PS4 and Xbox One.
