Disney Infinity 3.0 release date and game details revealed

A release date for Disney Infinity 3.0 as well as plenty of game details have been revealed.

News of Disney Infintiy has been pretty scarce since its announcement. With nothing concrete available and only a few leaked images of the figures and gameplay and the odd trailer here and there. Nothing so far has really told us what to expect from the new title or when we can expect to get our hands on the title.

However in the interests of making everyone’s life easier, we have decided to round up everything we know about the title in to one place for you.

Disney Infinity 3.0 will be released August 28th here in the UK where our American friends will have to wait a couple of more days to get their hands on it on the 30th.

This time around, the game is being released in different packages depending on whether the consumer is new to the series or a returning gamer.

For those that already own a portal from the previous Disney Infinity titles, they will be able to pre-order a play set bundle which includes the two figures, playset and Disney Infinity 3.0 software.

And finally, for those that who don’t want some amazing Star Wars figures or want to play the new playset, these strange individuals can pre-order the software on its own with ant of the aforementioned goodies …. As I said – strange individuals.

Star Wars playsets detailed so far feature Anakin and Ashoka hunting for the source of a creation of a new droid army which is set some time during the Clone Wars. Players visiting worlds such as Coruscant, Geonosis, Naboo and Tatooine have been announced with a final battle with Darth Maul also revealed.

An additional playset known as Rise Against The Empire will revolve around Luke and Leia facing against Darth Vader and the evil empire during memorable scenes on Hoth, Tattooine, The Forest moon of Endor and finally The Death Star.Disney Infinity 3.0 release date and game details revealed

A playset based on the Force Awakens has been confirmed but sadly no details are known regarding this probably due to details of the film being kept under lock and key.

A Marvel playset has also been announced but little details are known. It is speculated that the playset will revolve around the Age of Ultron movie with figures of both Ultron and the Iron Man Hulkbuster suit being confirmed

A Disney Original Playset has also been confirmed based on Disney/Pixar’s new movie Inside Out and will feature the Disney Infinity 3.0 release date and game details revealedfive emotions Joy, Anger, Sadness, Disgust, Fear attempting to retrieve Riley’s memories from Imagination Land as her subconscious is spun in to chaos after watching a horror movie and falling asleep.
It is said that the playset will act almost as a sequel to the movie. The playset will come bundled with figures of Joy and Anger.

Individual developers have been brought on board to handle the mechanics of certain gameplay elements in the latest addition of the Disney Infinity series with Sonic and Sega Allstars developer Sumo Digital being responsible for vehicle mechanics which will play a major role in the new Toy Box mode: Toy Box Speedway. Toy Box Speedway is said to be a separate Toy Box mode which features a racing mode similar to that found in Mario Kart.

Devil May Cry developer, Ninja Theory, will be working on the games combat system, specifically lightsaber combat. New fighting styles and abilities such as air combos will also be added with the ability to launch an enemy in to the air with an uppercut attack and then follow up in mid air with additional strikes.

Developer Disney Interactive made this decision when the call for the removal of blind bags came from fans and when Disney Interactive realised that the sales of Power Disc packs increased when they had announced that a specific disc would be included in recent Power Disc packs.

Power Disc packs announced so far include two Star Wars related packs and a Tomorrowland themed pack with each pack containing four discs.
